Short biography

Ammar Salman graduated from Kassel University, Kassel, Germany in 2011 with the degree of Diplom-Ingenieur in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with a specialization on Renewable Energies. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kassel, Germany, in 2017 on »Reactive power voltage control for the optimized integration of renewable energy systems into the power supply system«. Since 2014, he is with Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Freiburg Germany. He worked as a project manager and development scientist for different research projects in the fields of:

  • Dynamic grid control and modeling, grid stability, high-power converters, »multi-megawatts«, grid integration, in the interconnected grid and in microgrids
  • Creation and validation of generation plants - detailed simulation models for connection guidelines
  • Grid stability studies in connection with the construction of new decentralized generators for local distribution grids, or transmission level with AC high voltage or HVDC systems
