Research for the Energy Transition

Editorial – Annual Report 2025/26

Prof. Dr. Andreas Bett

Renewable energies continue to gain importance. Last year, more solar power was generated in Germany and many other European countries than ever before – thanks to the expansion of private and corporate PV systems. At the same time, rapid grid expansion and the integration of storage into the power grid are required. Sector coupling is progressing. Advances in the electricity, heating, mobility, and industry sectors are increasingly working together, enabling the development of a resilient and robust overall system.
