Heat Pumps

The demand for heating is often underestimated; in fact, space heating and hot water account for more than 80% of energy consumption in households. In view of advancing climate change and the scarcity of resources, there is an urgent need to provide heating and, increasingly, cooling as efficiently and sustainably as possible. Heat pump technology offers a solution for making a contribution to the heating transition.

The biggest advantage of heat pumps is that the provision of heating (and cooling) is based primarily on environmental energy. The remaining energy is usually supplied in the form of electrical energy. The more environmental energy and the less electrical energy a heat pump requires, the more efficiently it works. This brings both economic and ecological benefits.

In order to further improve the efficiency and ecological balance of heat pumps, we are dedicated to the development and further development of individual heat pump components as well as a switch to natural refrigerants. At the same time, we are investigating different heat pump systems under real conditions in the field. This enables us to identify errors in the planning, installation and operation of the systems and formulate suggestions for improvement.
