Installation and Operation of Heat Pumps

Installation and operation have a significant impact on the cost and efficiency of heat pumps. Installation practices for heat pumps differ significantly from those for gas boilers, making it necessary to develop and establish new processes. Digital solutions optimise operation and support both the preparation and execution of installations, ensuring that heat pump systems are installed and commissioned to suit the specific characteristics of each building.

Fraunhofer ISE is developing methods for digitally supported quality assurance during installation and uses artificial intelligence methods to optimize the operating phase. This should not only enable faster and more error-free installation of heat pump systems on site, but also self-optimization and monitoring during operation.

Our R&D Services on the Topic "Installation and Operation of Heat Pumps" Include:

  • Use of digital methods to optimize the planning, installation, and operation of heat pumps
  • Standardization of planning procedures of of different heat pump systems
  • Simplification and acceleration of the installation phase through process analyses and optimizations
  • Self-learning heat pump systems for optimization during operation
