The International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (IEA SHC) are organizing the international conference. Fraunhofer ISE, together with the University of Freiburg, is responsible for the scientific program. The former director of Fraunhofer ISE and INATECH Professor, Prof. Dr. Hans-Martin Henning, is the conference chair, and Dr. Korbinian Kramer from ISE is the scientific chair of EuroSun2026.

The conference is aimed at experts from science and research in the fields of renewable energies, engineering, and planning, as well as representatives from industry and business.

The EuroSun2026 conference invites submissions of abstracts covering the entire solar energy value chain. The organizers welcome contributions from a wide range of fields, from energy-efficient buildings to hydrogen technologies. A special emphasis on application and market ready solutions is encouraged.

Abstracts are invited on the following topics:

  • Sustainable Heating and Cooling Systems for Buildings
  • Sustainable and Efficient Districts
  • Sustainable Heat for Industrial Processes
  • Energy-Efficient Buildings
  • Solar Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Sustainable Energy Infrastructure and Electrification
  • Electrical Energy Storage & Hydrogen
  • Thermal Energy Storage
  • Solar Thermal and PVT Collectors and Solar Loop Components
  • Solar Resources and Energy Meteorology
  • Sustainable and Solar Energy Transition

The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 1, 2026.

The conference is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. At the same time, it is returning to its roots, as the first EuroSun conference also took place in Freiburg in 1996.
