The significant societal challenges, such as the energy transition, require an interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, Fraunhofer ISE works across institutes on systemic solutions for climate-neutral neighborhoods, municipalities, and companies in line with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Fraunhofer ISE implements sustainability step by step into its operational and content-related activities. To support this process, the institute continuously sets new goals and evaluates whether the corresponding measures have been successful.

"As a pioneer for the transformation to a renewable and efficient energy supply, we at Fraunhofer ISE feel particularly committed to sustainability," said Institute Director Prof. Dr. Andreas Bett. "

The German Sustainability Award honors pioneers in 100 sectors each year based on their sustainability profiles. An independent expert jury selects the pioneers, finalists, and winners. The award ceremony will take place in Düsseldorf on December 4 and 5.
