  • 1985-1991 University of Stuttgart, study of mechanical engineering

Dr. Peter Fath

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:

  • I want to contribute my many years of experience in photovoltaics, battery storage, and hydrogen production—both in research and industrial scaling. Innovations in technology, product design, mechanical engineering, and factory planning, as well as their transition to mass production within the context of the global industrial transformation, are core tasks of Fraunhofer ISE, which I will support with my expertise and network.

The Fraunhofer ISE Board of Trustees offers a unique platform for connecting research, industry, and policy-makers to actively shape the future of photovoltaics, energy storage, and the energy transition together.

Sibylle Hepting-Hug

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:

  • Fraunhofer ISE can make an important contribution to climate protection and the success of the energy transition with its research focus and innovative projects.

My background is:

  • Head of the Climate, Sustainability, Resource Efficiency, Circular Economy Department at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector.

Jalin Ketter

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:

  • I am convinced that the transformation of our energy and industrial systems can only succeed through close collaboration between research, industry, and policy. Fraunhofer ISE combines scientific excellence with a strong practical focus and has extensive networks. Together, we can turn innovations into marketable solutions more quickly and thus bring them into industrial application.

The Board of Trustees provides a forum for open, strategic dialogue with a high level of technical expertise. Within this distinguished group, we have the opportunity to work together to provide valuable impetus for the energy and technology transition.

Dr. Ralph Kleinschmidt

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:

  • the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, with its fields of activity and research focus, makes a very important contribution to solving the current challenges in the transformation of our energy supply system. I am also familiar with the outstanding expertise and infrastructure at Fraunhofer ISE from joint projects.

    My background is:

  • More than 20 years of professional experience in chemical plant engineering and research and development with a focus on “sustainable technologies” and “circular economy”
  • Head of Technology & Innovation at thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH
  • Member of the board of the Dechema Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V.
  • Member of the board of the VDMA working group PtX4A (power to X for application)

Dr.-Ing. Joachim P. Kloock

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:

  • the energy transition is one of the greatest tasks of our time with regard to climate targets and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and Fraunhofer ISE in particular are making significant contributions to this.

Dr. Anna Lehner

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:

  • I want to actively follow the breadth of ISE’s research on Germany’s cross-sectoral defossilization – from industry and heating to mobility, synthetic fuels, and CO2 removal technologies – and integrate it fruitfully into my own work. Carbonfuture is working on the market infrastructure that establishes these technologies as capital-market-ready instruments, and I can bring this perspective to the board’s strategic discussions.

The board offers a rare opportunity to experience first-hand research that is critical to building an economy within planetary boundaries and to help shape its strategic direction alongside a group of high-caliber practitioners.

Jeannette Lemmes

I am a trustee at Fraunhofer ISE because:
