• At the main station, take the Wentzingerstraße/West exit.
• Stations for rental bikes at the station; alternatively, bike stations at the City/Reisezentrum exit
• Go north on Wentzingerstraße, turn left onto Lehener Straße, take the next right onto Kreuzstraße, turn left onto Breisacher Straße, after about 900 meters turn right onto Fahrradstraße FR2, turn left onto Elsässer Straße, turn right onto Heidenhofstraße
• Destination is on the right side
• Bike station directly opposite the main building

By Car

Autobahn A5 Karlsruhe/Basel, exit Freiburg Mitte, after 4 km exit Universitätskliniken/Bischofslinde, follow Berliner Allee in direction Uni-Klinikum, after 2 km turn right at Elsässer Straße, then first left into Heidenhofstraße.

By Train / tram / railcar

From Freiburg Hbf (central station):

• Take tram line 4 (in direction of Messe), get off at Elsässer Straße, from there it's a one minute walk to Fraunhofer ISE, at tram station turn right into Elsässer Straße, turn left at first street, which is Heidenhofstraße.

• Take Breisgau-S-Bahn (Railcar) heading to Breisach, get off at Neue Messe, 4 minutes walk through railway underpass

By Bus

Bus Nr.10 (direction Zähringen) or Nr. 36 (direction Hochdorf) get off at Elsässer Straße, from there it's a one minute walk to Fraunhofer ISE, at bus station turn right into Elsässer Straße, turn left at first street, which is Heidenhofstraße.

By Plane

From Airport Basel about an hour drive to Fraunhofer ISE or by Airportbus (45 minutes) to Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (central station). Here take tram or railcar.

Coming from Karlsruhe/ Coming from Basel

From the A5 motorway, take Exit 61 "Freiburg Nord" and
turn left onto the "Freiburg/Waldkirch/Glottertal" link road. Continue following the signs to Freiburg and take the Exit "Industriegebiet Freiburg-Nord."
Move into the far left lane. At the first set of traffic lights, turn left into the Hans-Bunte-Strasse. After about 200 meters, turn right into Gate 4 (TDK-Micronas) - the visitor parking lot.

Coming from the Black Forest

Take highway B31 to Freiburg. Stay on the B31 through Freiburg and
follow the blue signs for the Karlsruhe/Basel motorway. On reaching the divided highway, take the Exit “Offenburg/ Industriegebiet Nord.”
Join the Paduaallee which turns into the Granadaallee and then the Lembergallee.

At the fourth set of traffic lights, turn right into the Hans-Bunte-Strasse.
After about 200 meters, turn right into Gate 4 (Micronas) - the visitor parking lot.
