Low material costs, low process temperature for manufacturing and laboratory efficiencies of more than 23% demonstrate the potential of perovskite-based solar cells in the thin film PV market. The challenge now is to transfer the rapid increase in efficiency not previously observed in the PV sector to a new level for the production of scalable, stable and cost-effective solar cells and PV modules.
The ESPResSo consortium is funded by the European Union with more than 5 million Euros to overcome the limitation of the current Perovskite technology, to develop highly efficient Perovskite solar cells and PV modules and to demonstrate their practical application.
