Connection of open cold storage tanks in a supply system.

Fraunhofer ISE optimally integrates heat and cold storage systems into building supply systems. For this purpose, we develop concepts for hydraulic coupling, e.g. of open storage systems, and for operational management. The goals are the energy-efficient use of heat and cold storage, decrease of time and effort for installation and controls, as well as cost reductions.

Our services include:

Furnishing of a cold water storage with temperature sensors.

We plan and create monitoring concepts for the energetic analysis of storage systems and for the optimization of operational management strategies. With the help of data and user surveys, we evaluate the efficiency of storage solutions, e.g. passive and active solutions for cooling buildings with regard to comfort and energy efficiency. We also use simulation-based methods for evaluations. These enable an objective assessment of the efficiency of passive and active air conditioning system solutions for buildings. Additionally, the simulations can be used to optimize operational management and evaluate the influence of the building users.

We integrate heat and cold storage into the operational management of buildings and optimize them in terms of energy efficiency and comfort.
