Fraunhofer ISE hosts 17th International Conference on Concentrator PV Systems CPV-17, April 12-14, 2021

Early Bird registration is still open until March 8, 2021 for the 17th edition of the leading international conference on concentrator PV systems CPV-x. Due to the Corona pandemic, the conference will be held virtually only.

Hosted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, the 17th International Conference on Concentrator Photovoltaic Systems (CPV-17) will take place from April 12 to 14, 2021. CPV-17 is the premier technical conference in the areas of high- and low-concentration PV components, modules, and tracker-based PV systems. The conference brings together the most recent achievements in the development of CPV components and systems, such as solar cells and optics to be integrated in advanced module concepts and systems.

“An exciting program is waiting for the participants of CPV-17, ranging from latest performance results through to characterization methodologies as well as new designs and manufacturing technologies”, says Maike Wiesenfarth, Scientific Chair of the Conference and Head of Concentrator Modules and Systems at Fraunhofer ISE. “Novel concepts will be presented, for example high efficiency solar cells with more than 3 pn-junctions, novel optical concepts, micro-CPV, hybrid modules – that capture also diffuse irradiation – or integrated tracking systems, to name a few”, she adds. “These new approaches enable the development of new applications and new markets such as integration of CPV systems in urban environments, in buildings (BIPV) or the aerospace.”

Beyond electricity generation, the conference also looks at CPV as an enabling technology. This year the program includes contributions on CPV in combination with hydrogen production or power to gas.

Registration is open, reduced early bird fees are available until March 8, 2021.

The CPV-17 program is now online.
