First International Conference for Vehicle-integrated PV

Vehicle-integrated photovoltaics has received increasing interest from science and industry in recent years. From December 6 to 8, 2021, the Netherlands Organization for applied scientific research TNO and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE with the conference organizer Conexio-PSE GmbH are organizing “PVinMotion 2021,” the first international conference dedicated to this topic. The event will be held online over a period of three days. Industry representatives, scientists and interested parties will discuss solutions for the integration of photovoltaics in cars, trucks and other vehicles.

From December 6-8, 2021 PVinMotion, the world’s first scientific conference dedicated to vehicle-integrated photovoltaics, is taking place online.

"Presently many scientific institutions are actively developing solutions for vehicle integration. Both new and established companies, such as Hyundai or SonoMotors, are bringing these technologies to market," observes Dr. Martin Heinrich, coordinator for PV Mobility at Fraunhofer ISE and chairman of the conference. "To advance this topic and promote networking between the stakeholders, we provide a podium which allows science and industry to jointly discuss the technology and design as well as the economic and legal frameworks of vehicle-integrated photovoltaics."

The three-day program will cover the following topics:

  • Performance, yield potential, economic efficiency and sustainability of vehicle-integrated PV
  • Module integration and energy system management
  • Industry sessions with application examples in passenger and commercial vehicles
  • Standardization, security and reliability
  • Cell technologies for vehicle-integrated PV
