“Our membership in the Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) is a recognition of our long-standing commitment in this area.” As new member of the CTCN, Fraunhofer ISE will work on CTCN requests submitted by threshold and developing countries.

The Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) is an international organization, based in Copenhagen and hosted by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). CTCN strives to intensify cooperation in climate relevant technologies for greenhouse gas reduction and climate change adaptation as well as to improve networking possibilities. On the national level, the work of the CTCN is supported by a local contact office, a so-called “National Designated Entity” (NDE). Worldwide there are 140 NDEs in the meanwhile, representing most of the world’s population. In Germany the role of NDE will be assumed by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi).
