Dr. Henning Helmers

Short biography

Henning Helmers received the Diplom degree in physics and the Dr. rer nat. degree from the University of Oldenburg, Germany, in 2009 and 2013, respectively. He joined Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in 2008. He has been working on luminescent concentrators, III-V based single- and multi-junction cells, concentrating photovoltaic-thermal systems (CPVT), dense array receivers, and concentrating optics. Since 2013, he is coordinating the research related to »Power-by-Light« at Fraunhofer ISE. His main research areas include III-V absorber material development, PV cell design and modeling, device optimization for monochromatic light conversion, high-voltage PV cells, processing and microsystem technology for advanced PV cell architectures, characterization, and system integration of photovoltaic laser power converters.
