Integrated Energy Infrastructures: Electricity, District Heat, Gas

With the Research Topic "Integrated Energy Infrastructures", we offer our customers consulting services for the system integration of energy systems with the aim of realizing a sustainable and economical energy supply. We take a systemic view of the infrastructure of electricity, heating/cooling and gas networks as well as the operating resources and storage facilities in the various media and sectors with the aim of optimizing the overall system.  

Our scientific staff combine the necessary expertise from the fields of energy system analysis, operational management and planning of sector-coupled electricity, gas and heating grids, energy and process engineering, energy management, storage systems and hydrogen infrastructures.  

For our clients, the right strategy for implementing the transformation plays a central role, so we advise municipal decision-makers on system development planning, i.e. the creation and adaptation of a future-proof infrastructure.  In addition to questions regarding the design of grids, utilities are also concerned with their functionality: bidirectional usable grids with prosumers, resilient grid structures to increase security of supply and ultimately the use of storage and flexibility.
