In the context of the energy transition and the increase of photovoltaic capacities, it is essential to ensure long-term and complete electricity supply through renewable energies. Moreover, photovoltaic inverters and the associated solar generators do not only contribute to the energy supply, but also act as grid support – now also at night.
From this perspective, it is very important that the quality and reliability of the devices are ensured in terms of their longevity and continuous operation (24/7). With regard to measurement circuits, suitable solutions are to be developed and intelligent information on the state of health of the devices should be extracted. The aim of this joint project is to investigate the potential faults of photovoltaic inverters. Additionally, improved components are to be researched and solutions for intelligent failure prognosis should be conceived in order to be able to further increase or secure quality and reliability. The desired innovations will be evaluated using a modified demonstrator.
