9th PV Performance Modeling and Monitoring Workshop

Solar Research Institute of HIT, Fraunhofer ISE and Sandia National Laboratories are co-organizing the 9th PV Performance Modeling Collaborative (PVPMC) Workshop to be held in Weihai, China (5th - 6th December 2017). Technical tours will be offered on Thursday, 7th of December at Solar Research Institute of HIT and at a PV greenhouse plant at Weihai.

This workshop brings together solar PV professionals and researchers to learn about and discuss new and important technical issues related to PV performance modeling. This workshop will be stimulating, interactive, and provide valuable information for modelers, model developers, and other users of PV performance model results. Simultaneous translation for Chinese and English will be offered for the workshop.

Call for Abstracts

If you wish to contribute please send us an abstract not later than Nov 2, 2017 to

pvpmc@hitwh.edu.cn

The abstract shall not exceed two pages (size A4) and shall contain the following aspects:

  • Title
  • Full name and address of one author for correspondence
  • Full name, affiliation, address of other authors/co-authors
  • Purpose and approach of work
  • Scientific innovation and relevance to the addressed topics
  • Results and conclusions
  • File format: .doc or .pdf

The workshop will include oral presentations and a limited number of poster presentations. The poster session is designed to support discussion on important topics and provides high visibility of the contributions. The abstracts with the best evaluation as determined by the Scientific Committee will be selected for contributions at the workshop.

Authors will be notified for acceptance of their abstracts by the organization committee by November 18, 2017. All presentations and posters will be published (as pdf) on the workshop webpage and will be available to the public.

  • Forecasting and Modeling for PV Grid Integration
  • PV Modeling Applications: Modeling Tool Updates & Moderated Panel Discussion
  • Modeling of next generation module technology (smart modules, bifacial, other new technologies)
  • New PV System Technology, in the field of power electronics and inverters, tracking and module mounting, …)
  • Field Monitoring, Degradation, and strategies to maintain long-term power plant performance
  • Grid Utilization, e.g. Decentralized PV and Storage
  • Soiling studies and Modeling Methods

Plenty of time will be given for discussion during the workshop.
