Solar thermal technology offers great potential for a variety of different applications. To achieve the best performance, it is especially important to optimally design the solar thermal system with respect to its components and its application. With our long-standing expertise and know-how we support investors, applicants, planners and manufacturers of thermal systems technology from the research and development phase to the quality assurance and monitoring of installations.

In particular, our work focuses on solar thermal power plants, solar process heat for industrial applications and solar cooling systems. Specific research questions address, for example, the direct coupling of solar-generated steam into existing steam networks or the integration of thermal storage. Our services range from the development and optimization of single components, system evaluation and concepts up to market studies or the development of innovative industry concepts. For techno-economic optimizations, we apply our in-house developed, customized simulation tools. For experimental assessments and accompanying research, we use our state-of-the-art laboratory equipment und testing facilities as well as various facilities for in-situ measurements and monitoring.

As a complement to our research and development work in the research topic Thermal Systems Engineering, we offer related testing and certification services to clients.
