PV on composite substrates features excellent mechanical stability combined with mini-mal mass.

The most important point concerning PV integration into aircraft surfaces is: The mass of the solar modules must be as small as possible and the power density must be as high as possible. The very thin and light PV modules developed at Fraunhofer ISE make integra-tion into electric aircraft and drones interesting. Modules with III-V solar cell technology are particularly well-suited to this purpose.
