Electromobility in Private Life

We are investigating how electromobility can be integrated into daily private life. Energy management systems are designed and intelligent charging systems installed in a group of seven energy-efficient ZeroPlus houses with photovoltaic systems.

Modern information and communications technology (ICT) is a fundamental part of the future energy supply system. For a reliable and efficient integration of decentralized renewable energy systems, the Smart Grid, i.e. the connected and intelligent operation of all components in the electricity grid of the future, is mandatory.

Fraunhofer ISE’s research expertise in Smart Grid Technologies covers a wide range of topics such as: measurements and status analyses in buildings and the distribution grid, prognosis of supply and demand, energy flow optimizations (generation, distribution, consumption, storage), communication protocols,  automated system controls as well as market integration, billing and user feedback.
