Short biography

Stefan Henninger studied physics at the University of Freiburg, where he graduated in collaboration with the Fraunhofer ISE in 2002. He wrote his Ph.D at the Freiburger Material Research Center (FMF) from 2003 to 2007, using computer simulation to identify different adsorbents for heat storage and transformation applications via Monte Carlo methods of water adsorption.
In January 2008 he returned to the Fraunhofer ISE, going through different positions such as being Head of a research group on materials development and characterisation of porous materials like zeolites or MOFs for dehumidification or thermal process or being responsible for the IP management and strategy of a large Fraunhofer internal project.
Recently he switched his position to the department of heating and cooling technologies as Deputy Head taking care of developments with focus on high temperature vapor compression heat pumps for industrial applications. He co-ordinated several national and international research projects.
