Fraunhofer ISE receives two EU PVSEC awards

The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems won two awards as part of the 33rd European PV Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC), the world’s largest conference dedicated to the topic of photovoltaics.

Katharina Gensowski receives the Poster Award

Katharina Gensowski, a researcher at Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, receives the Poster Award from Professor Arno Smets, chairman of this year’s EU PVSEC.

Rok Kimovec, a visiting scientist form the University of Ljubljana, received the EU PVSEC Student Award for his joint paper “Multi-segment photovoltaic laser power converters and their electrical losses”, which emerged from his research at Fraunhofer ISE. The EU PVSEC Student Award recognizes outstanding young researchers in the area of photovoltaics. An international jury of 191 leading experts from science and industry evaluated the papers submitted. 

Katharina Gensowski received a Poster Award for her poster on the topic of “Paste development for electrochemical screen printing to structure metal layers of back contact solar cells”. Both prizes were presented by Professor Arno Smets of Delft University of Technology, the chairman of the 33rd EU PVSEC.
